Following a successful 2012, GYMBO announced its male and female Athletes of the Year during a recent members’ gathering at GYMBO Club.

Rabih Kambriss and Ferdous Abdelhak were awarded Athletes of the year 2012, following their commitment, dedication and efforts in achieving their fitness goals. The award’s criteria were very specific and selection of the winners was based on evaluation presented by GYMBO’s fitness manager and trainers.

Ghassan Majed, GYMBO General Manager, commented on the occasion: “The Athlete of the Year award was created to be an annual award marking the outstanding achievements by a male and a female GYMBO athlete throughout the year. For 2012, we have closely monitored our fitness members and created very specific criteria to determine our winners. Some of these were: how long the member has been with us which should be a minimum of six months, his/her commitment and efforts to achieving their fitness objectives, frequency in attendance and progress seen in their FAT tests, plus an overall evaluation by our fitness manager and trainers.

“I would like to congratulate Ferdous and Rabih, deserved winners of this prestigious award for 2012,” concluded Ghassan.

On her winning the GYMBO female Athlete of the Year, Ferdous said: “I am delighted to win this prestigious award from GYMBO. I joined GYMBO in October 2011 with one goal in mind, and that was to get in shape and be fit. It took months of dedication and commitment from my side and a lot of motivation from my fellow members and GYMBO trainers. I would like to thank GYMBO for honoring me with this award and my trainers who were most helpful in guiding me all the way. To me, healthy eating and exercise is no longer wishful thinking but rather a new way of life.”

For Rabih, the situation was a bit more challenging. He recalls: “I had a knee injury for quite a long time and although I tried to do spontaneous sports and exercise, but was getting nowhere. I was determined to make a change and joined GYMBO in February 2012. It was a turning point in my life. Upon joining, I registered in the “Personal Training” program, and a GYMBO personal trainer developed the program for me combining a healthy diet with selected exercises that suited my condition. The professional coaching and ongoing motivation by GYMBO’s trainers were priceless, and for them I remain grateful and thankful. My GYMBO outing has become a regular activity for me today. I am delighted to receive this special award and would like to thank GYMBO Club.

Ferdous and Rabih received their “Athlete of the Year 2012” awards from GYMBO’s CEO, Mme Salam Abed and General Manger Ghassan Majed, in presence of GYMBO fitness trainers and members. The event concluded with Ferdous and Rabih cutting the cake and it was all smiles to the camera!

Congratulations Ferdous and Rabih. Well done!
