GYMBO GYMNASTICS STAR ALISSA SADEK WINS SILVER IN BUDAPEST

Lebanese Gymnastics talent, Alissa Sadek, has won 2nd place at the recently held international Rhythmic Gymnastics Torunament KFK Gracia Cup 2013 in Budapest, Hungary.
This international tournament, which was held on 24th and 25th August 2013 and organized by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), included some of the world’s best rhythmic gymnasts from Hungary, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden – with Alissa being the only representation from Lebanon and the Middle East region.
Mohamad Makki, President of the Lebanese Gymnastics Federation, was delighted to hear the news from Hungary and commented: “It gives us pleasure to see one of our Lebanese Gymnastics talents receiving recognition and medals at a prestigious international event such as the 7th Gracia Cup in Hungary. The Lebanese Gymnastics Federation and the whole of Lebanon is proud of Alissa Sadek who managed to carry Lebanon’s name high in a number of international tournaments over the past few years.
“I would like to congratulate Alissa for yet another outstanding achievement and am sure we will see more of her as she continues to ride the waves of success in the sport of Gymnastics,” concluded Mr. Makki.
Ghassan Majed, General Manager GYMBO, said: “We are happy to see Alissa return to us with a silver medal and hence placing Lebanon on the international honorary list when it comes to Rhythmic Gymnastics tournaments. This is a very prestigious event and snatching 2nd place infront of the world’s best is in itself an outstanding achievement.
“I have said before that we are yet to the best from Alissa and am sure the Gold medal is not far-fetched now. On behalf of GYMBO family, I would like to congratulate Alissa on her achievement and GYMBO is very proud of her,” concluded Ghassan.
Alissa herself was overjoyed with the success achieved and commented: “I am speechless and cannot describe how I really feel! It is a dream come true for me personally and I will continue to work hard to win the Gold medal next time round. I would like to thank all those who stood by me and continue to encourage me all the way – my parents, my coach, GYMBO family. I love you all.”
