As part of its commitment towards the safety of its staff and members alike, and in collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC), GYMBO organized and hosted its third training on “First Aid” on the 17th and 18th of January The training was attended by staff and trainers from GYMBO Club and GYMBO School of Gymnastics.
The training was part of LRC’s “Every citizen is a First Aid” campaign, which aims to spread awareness on how to deal with emergency and serious incidents, as and when they arise. LRC professional trainees demonstrated to Gymbo staff and trainers on how to deal with serious and urgent health-related situations and incidents, such as suffocation, fainting, broken hands and legs, burns, blood pressure and loss of breath, and how to give aid to the injured to keep them safe, up until the Red Cross team arrives at the location.
Ghassan Majed, GYMBO General Manager, commented: “This is the 3rd training that we do together with the Lebanese Red Cross for our staff and trainers, and it is becoming an annual calendar event for us. As we all know, injury can happen to each and every one of us at anytime, anywhere! The way we deal with certain injuries in the first few minutes as they happen, is extremely important and can make the difference between life and death! As a responsible club, we take these first aid training sessions very seriously and ensure all our staff and trainers are part of it. We are working with LRC to extend these sessions to involve our members as well.”
Houssam El-Bissani, Club Coordinator, also stressed on the importance of these sessions and said: “Being a sports club, the probability of incidents involving injury is certainly higher. What is important for us as GYMBO staff and trainers is to be ready and be able to deal with such incidents, instantly and in the right way. Today, we are including these important trainings as part of our employees’ KPI’s and deliverables.”
“I would like to thank the LRC once again. What they are doing is really amazing and commendable, especially under the challenging circumstances that our country is going through,” added Houssam.
