Health and safety
Health and safety notice.
Please read this before using the gym floor, classes, martial arts, the sauna or the ice bath.
Seek medical advice first if: you are pregnant, have a heart or blood-pressure condition, are recovering from surgery or injury, take medication that affects heart rate, blood pressure or temperature regulation, or have any medical concern at all. If in doubt, ask your doctor before participating.
General
Train within your ability. Tell a coach about any injury, condition or medication before your first session — it changes what we will ask you to do, and we would rather know.
Gym floor
- Warm up before lifting and use a spotter for heavy work.
- Re-rack weights and wipe equipment down after use.
- Ask a coach for a form check whenever you are unsure — that is what they are on the floor for.
- Stop if you feel faint, dizzy or in pain, and tell a member of staff.
Classes and martial arts
- Arrive a few minutes early so you do not miss the warm-up.
- Tell the coach if it is your first session, or if you are returning from injury.
- Partner work is controlled. Contact levels are set by the coach and must be respected.
- Children must be collected by a parent or an authorised adult.
Sauna
- Sessions are time-limited and capacity-controlled. Follow the posted limits.
- Hydrate before and after. Do not use the sauna immediately after alcohol or a heavy meal.
- Leave immediately if you feel unwell, light-headed or unusually hot.
- Never use the sauna alone if you have any medical concern.
Ice bath
- Enter slowly and control your breathing. Do not jump or dive in.
- Observe the posted maximum immersion time — longer is not better.
- Never use the ice bath alone, and never immediately after intense sauna use without a rest period.
- Exit immediately if you experience numbness, chest tightness or breathing difficulty.
The Reset Room
Reset Room sessions and practitioner-led services are complementary to medical care. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment or a substitute for advice from a qualified medical professional, and no therapeutic outcome is guaranteed.
In an emergency
Tell any member of staff immediately. First-aid trained team members are on site during opening hours.
